... about art ...
"More important than a work of art itself is his effect. Art can lapse. an image can be destroyed. What counts is the seed."

On a walk - tintinnabulation/Tönende
Searching for an easy translation I found tintinnabulation - not exactly what I searched for but what a funny word!
There is a very nice park here, named Rombergpark where you can see these five wood figures. Inside of each is a big stone stange and when you knock on it, it makes a sound. So it's nice to stand in the middle and let the wood men sing for you.

Closer - The Geisha
A little bit closer to the painting from my last post. It's from a series about woman (after an image in a magazine - I forgot the originator of the photo - sorry) - not one of my best paintings (some proportions are wrong) but I like it a lot.

Belonging to the last post here are the originals from my findings-collection. The crabclaw and the sea urchin skelett are from France, the shell was a present I got.

I don't know when and why I did this but while straighten up my painting stuff I found these ones. So here they are - before they get lost in chaos again.

Manatis
I love manatis and this is one of my rare watercolour paintings. Sometimes I like to work with watercolours and it's like a rest from the heavy acryl and oil paint. But it's more difficult to catch the brilliance of colour with a photograph. So the original looks much better than the picture above.

Frauenbilder
This was a little experience using only three "colours" (phtalo blue, cadmium red, cadmium yellow, mars black and white). Contrary to my normal painting mode I worked very fast, not looking for a good result, even for the idea I normally have in mind. It made fun, maybe it will grow to something more than that. We will see ...

This concept I made in a workshop with the nice Prof. Sonnewend. I choosed the story "The burrow" from Kafka which I like a lot. It was very interesting to think about this theme and to create this kind of advertisement for a stage play. A few years ago I went to a reading of "The burrow" mentioned as "quadrophonic installation under ground" in an coal mine. They performed in totally darkness, so everyone could get a good feeling of being in the burrow.
